The Cottage Cooking Club - September Recipes

Hope you enjoyed our sixteenth month of preparing recipes from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall´s River Cottage Everyday Veg”! We are now at the beginning of September and as a group we have already cooked 160 recipes from this lovely cookbook. Therefore, I believe it is time to take another "breather"!

MAKE-UP MONTH:

This month will be another make-up month! That will give everyone a chance to cook as many OR as little of the recipes that they have missed so far! OR you can also re-visit as many or as little of your favorite recipes! There is such an abundance of vegetables out there at this time of year that I would not want to restrict your independent and creative minds!

For ease of reference, please consult the list of recipes that we have made so far:

  9. Hi Andrea!! Well, I goofed and didn't take the picture of the lentil nicoise that I made last week - since everyone raved... oh well! BUT, I just finished my roasted tomato sauce, so I will make the tomato and mozzarella risotto. I will also be making the leek and cheese toastie (yum!). Might just get to the chiles filled with beans (or as we would call them - chiles rellenos de frijoles!). I would also love to make the cheat's cauliflower cheese. We'll see. Oh, that upside down onion tart... maybe. I might run out of time. So many great recipes, so little time!!

    Thank you Andrea!

    1. Candy, you will love the Tomato risotto - it tastes fabulous and it is a nice accompaniment to a lot of dishes or just on its own with a nice side salad. Do not forget to make utterly charming Cheese and leek toasties and the nice Cheat´s cauliflower if you have the time - oh, the Upside-down onion tart is easy-peasy...
      Enjoy!

    Thanks so much, Andrea!
