  1. If you were not planning to make the Cheesy Peasy Puff Turnover (page 220), you might want to re-think your plan - it is a wonderful, family-friendly and delicious recipe. The kids adored the turnovers (I made a few of them) and happily finished them off in no time at all! I think I gave them an extra five minutes in the oven - perfect (at least with my old oven).

    1. I totally agree - they were a big hit! And I liked that you could use a different cheese if that's what you had on hand. Yummy!

  2. The Potato Rösti (page 391) were a huge hit as well (no real surprise there) - this is such an easy recipe, especially if you plan ahead and keep those barely cooked potatoes on hand - then you will be able to cook the Rösti(s) even at a moment´s notice. You can top these with all kinds of delicious veg of your choice - give the recipe a try, you will not regret it!

    1. Since I'm not a pro at these, I should have made the smaller version - but they were really good!

    2. Dear Candy, you can consult the list from the Cottage Cooking Club website for all recipes that we have completed so far (one hundred) right here: http://cottage-cooking-club.blogspot.de/p/1.html

The small versions of the Rösti are less stressful to make. But I have had good success with turning the larger Rösti with a cake plate.

  3. The Roasted squash and shallots with merguez chickpeas (page 365) are a bit more time consuming than some of the other dishes and require a bit more planning with respect to putting togehter all the ingredients that you need - I used butternut squash and shallots for this - if you like depth of flavor and spices, this is for you!
